Inventory Controller

Ansett Aircraft Spares & Services, a trusted leader in aviation parts and support, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to join our team.

Position Overview:

As an Inventory Controller, you will play a key role in managing the company’s inventory. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Places items to be stocked in proper storage locations
  • Reads pick tickets to determine items to be pulled from stock
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
  • Marks materials with identifying information
  • Opens boxes, bales, crates, and other containers
  • Records amount of materials or items received or distributed
  • Weighs or counts items as instructed by a supervisor or per work instructions
  • Uses PC to enter records
  • Performs packing and packaging tasks following formal inspection and prior to shipping
  • Attaches identification data onto articles of inventory.

 

RECEIVING FUNCTION: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Compares received articles against stock transfer lists, open purchase orders or repair orders
  • Examines articles for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect
  • Initiates nonconforming material reports per QA/ISO work instructions
  • Enters inventory data into Quantum per Quantum work instructions and follows up if data is missing
  • Attaches identification data onto article
  • Records factors causing goods to be returned
  • Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments, and
  • Provides notification to the Sales Department when necessary

  FINAL INSPECTION: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Compares articles to be shipped against shipping orders and check sheets to verify correctness of parts, quantities and associated documentation
  • Examines articles for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect Initiates nonconforming material reports per QA/ISO work instructions.

 QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to (a) read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals and (b) write routine reports and correspondence (via email, letter, etc.).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, and proportions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ISO/QA In-house (AASS) certification
Forklift safety and operation certification
Dangerous Goods Training (conducted after successful annual review)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Warehouse personnel must be able to lift and move boxes and other material either manually or using appropriate equipment.  The physical demands are representative of a typical warehouse environment and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
